Hi When me and Deanna were 5 yrs old,we were standing next to the fireguard in the living room.We were so scared,all we could see was this dark figure standing over the other side of the room staring at us. As young as we were we felt its evil presence,we knew it was evil,we felt it wanted to harm us,it was looking at us with so much hatred in its face.I got hold of my sisters hand and i knew that the kitchen door would be open.
So holding my sisters hand i slowly etched up towards the door,still holding on to my sister.We watched this evil figure as we ,finally reached the door,and then we ran out of that house as fast as we could screaming and crying for our grandmother who only lived two doors away,and our grandmother came running out ,and we ran into her arms . I suppose you could say it was childhood imagination but i dont think it was because Deanna saw it as well as i did.

We have never forgotten this bad experience. God bless juditha

You don't have forgotten, but overcome it seems! Well you and your sister had so much evil, strange but also great paranormal experiences, so good you're still here, alive and sharing!

What color were its eyes, Were they red?
Did the figure appear to be black, or could you see it wearing anything? Could you see whether it was male or female?

I'm new member here :)
I experienced similar thingy.  When I was 10 years old.  I and my sister followed grandma in a church evening procession.  We are holding candles while others (also my grandma) was holding a rosary and praying.  Then something caught my attention.  There is this black figure (a person's figure and I believe it is a male) with black clothings and he has a black cape.  Everything in this strange figure is black.  I saw it is staring at me.  He seems to know that I can see him.  So I continue walking (the procession is slow you see because people stop and pray or kneel down at times).  My grandma asked me to stop walking.  I told her that there is this black scary thingy at the left corner.  She looked for it but she can't see it.  I said.. there it is.  But then she said.. there was nothing.
I closed my eyes then it was gone.  Still scared.. I held my grandma's arm while following the procession and holding the candle.  When we reached another street.. I saw this strange figure again.  Exactly the same... it's black.  Person's figure and I think really that it is a male figure.  It's staring at me again and his cape moves backward.  I nearly run but my grandma felt that I'm not comfortable.  SHe asked me why.  I told her.. "the thing is there again!".  SHe looked around and she couldn't see it.  Then a sudden and short  earthquake occured.. not strong earthquake.  Everyone in the said procession stopped and kneel down and some says "stop first, there's earthquake".  I looked at the corner, the strange figure is still there.. staring at me.  I bravely point that figure to my grandma.  I said "There look at him Grandma".  My grandma said "All I can see is white wall.  There is no black man there.  Just pray".  So I prayed while my eyes is closed and when I look for it.. it's gone.  

I thought I post the above to tell you that you are not alone in experiencing a black figure.  The difference is I'm the only one who saw it :(

It scared me a lot because I can feel that time that it is somekind of evil... and now that I'm 34 years old.  I still remember the feeling of seeing such and until now.. the scary feeling is here.  I don't like to look at areas that I'm not sure what I'm going to see.

My husband asked me why I'm afraid of the dark.  He like to turn off all lights at night.  I like to turn it on so if I have to come out of bed room, I don't have to see black area :D

Hi lengbooi I am afraid of the dark as well . My husband always waits untill i fall asleep before he turns the lights off. I have never forgotten it either or Deanna ,the one we see also had a black cloak and really dark eyes and an evil look about it. Some things you experience as a child you never forget.God bless and welcome to you on the afterlife.  Juditha.

Here is the positive interpertation of your vision of darkness.  Judi-- the dark image presented itself to you and your sister to protect you for a greater danger. By manifesting itself as dark and evil, you and your sister did exactly as the helper was sent to do: make you leave the house. There was another unforseen danger inside, and the helper could only reach you by scaring you to leave in order to protect two innocent children.
Len- your dark spirit did something similar.  In order to prepare you for the mild earth quake--- the helper had you focus on itself.  This prevented you (and perhaps many others) from causing a stampeed or screaming out to frighten others who also felt the quake.  The helper had you focus on it so the other "evil" of the quake wouldn't frighten you more.  Love and Light--- cat

Deana and Judi--- Happy to send out positive energy to you.  Dreams have three ways to interpert them: 1st-- reality.  What happened to you in the past 24 hours that was interperted into your dream. Let's say you had a car in the dream. Well, you probably used your car earlier in the day.
2nd: symbolism.  what color was the car in your dream?  Let's say it was blue.  Blue is a soothing color and is both the throat chakra and the forehead chakra.  The throat chakra symbolizes communication. The forehead chakra symbolizes seeing through things. 3rd: spiritual. The car is a vehicle.  This vehicle may be interperted as a "medium speed" way of transporting oneself to the higher relams.  
You may use these interperatations for vision seeing, also.  Just as I "see" the helpers as not dark and foreboding, but as a way to frighten a child so that a greater danger won't occur.  For example, there could have been a rat running around in the house you were in, and by scaring you away with an image, you and your sister were safe from getting bitten by the rodent.  ---Hope this helps both of you.  Remember---there CAN be a positive to this negitive.
