Title: Past Lives Revisited? Post by SciMan on Apr 14th, 2006 at 6:46pm
I am new here, and am drawn by interest as well as experiences and personal research over the past decade. Not really sure where to take the conversation, but just to open up:
1) I've had very real recollections of being a teacher in a life directly preceding this one, in which my present wife and son were students of mine in that life. I place the timeframe roughly early 20th century. Interestingly, I've had individuals to whom I've briefed professionally (in my work-a-day life) tell me that I have a gift for explaining the complex in ways that are clear for the uninitiated without being demeaning or arrogant. 2) I've had recollections of being a medical practitioner in the mid-Atlantic region of the US (Maryland, Virginia) in the 1800s. Places that I've driven through in these two States--to which I've never been in this existence--I've recognized and have resulted in tremendous deja vu experiences. 3) At a conference I attended in the mid-90s, an experienced medium told me that she placed one of my lives at or around the time of Christ as one of his close disciples or relatives. Although I'm reluctant to share this, she identified me with John the Baptist. I realize this may sound crazy, and I'm somewhat embarrassed to share. However, I will offer that I am a trained scientist with multiple degrees from respected institutions. I do not publish this kind of thinking to any of my colleagues, lest I be branded a lunatic. Anyway, looking for comments or suggestions. Thanks. -SciMan |

Hi SciMan,
congratulations that you as a scientist are dealing with those issues and not deny them because it is "esoteric fairy tale" or something. I say that because I think it is very important that the scientific community would generally be more aware of the limitations of natural science. So much is suppressed because people learn to think like natural scientists and therefore block off any spiritual things and even simple theoretic-logic possibilities. On this board many shared experiences of what seemed to be past lives. I too had those experiences, funny, one of the most impressing is located in Virginia too, in the late 19th-beginning 20th century. I didn't looked it up so far if I could find verifications. So, what to do now? If a verification seem to be needed, just try to get it. I for myself am not sure what it would mean to me, well but to get a hit in this regard would I guess change something- it's after all a difference if something could be possibly or if you are convinced, if you know that it's true. Everyone can think about this before searching for evidence. Btw, for more details you may think about a regression, or self-regression with some relaxation and meditation. Spooky |
