Title: Punisment for Evil Spirits?? Post by Antwnhs on Apr 3rd, 2006 at 2:44am
Greetings everybody....from what I have learned here on earth we have a free will...(or so we like to believe :) ), this is the reason for many people getting the wrong way and become really evil and bad...I was wondering what happens when a spirit turns evil...are there punishments in the afterlife for such spirits and if there are, who judges them? I know punishment is a relative term....however is there a line of action for such spirits?

I hope there shall not be any punishment at all. You see, everything described evil in the Bible are illnesses in modern medicine. There's no way a psychopat would not be a psychopat for example, it is just the way it is, whether his godly, loving soul inside wanted or not. It's a problem in his brain, not soul - according to modern medicine of course.
And the list goes on and on. There is no pure evil. |

I don't believe that punishment is passed out to negative spirits, rather, by taking on a negative state of mind, they hurt themselves. How could they move on to a realm of light and love, unless they find a way to let go of there dark state of mind?

Look at it this way, Antonios. If you are born, and your spirit desires that you need to learn certain lessons about love, being a good person, and doing the right thing, then you may agree to be born, to use your free will, and have a chance to act correctly.
The further we stray from love and service to others, the more we may be "blowing it," so to speak, and head toward what is called evil on earth (that which is in the opposite direction to love and God). If someone uses their free will to committ horrible acts or selfish indulgence, then when they die, they find they are no closer to their spiritual goal of love and a unity with God. If you believe in guides and helpers, then it is said by many new agers that we have those on the other side, and are given opportunities to plan our earthly existence out to eventually "get it right." Free will allows those who think negatively to continue to do so after death, and those "evil-doers," may be in self- imposed hells (you judge yourself it seems). So, in answer to your question, I have not heard of reports of a wisened old man on a throne condemning one to hell or elevating another to heaven. We are here, alive at the present moment to learn certain lessons, and evolve. If we succeed, we may continue to evolve until we merge with the divine. If we fail, any suffering incurred is by our own thought/action and there appears always to be opportunity for us to redeem ourselves after a time. Matthew |
