Hi When i went to the spiritualist church this medium said that we choose our life before we are born, but we also choose our death as well.We choose how we are going to die and what we die of. It made me wonder whether we choose suicide as our death as well . If we are given this choice as an option as well. God bless juditha

If every aspect of our lives was planned, we would be robotic, and our choices would not have implications for our spiritual growth.  While it is possible that spirits may know in general of their lives to come on earth, I personally don't believe that all exits are planned in advance.  There is too much complex change in natural disasters, energy from other people interacting with ours to know with certainty before the events.  

It is more important to believe in our free will to make the right choices, to do good unto others, than to put faith in any predestination scenario.

I believe we can choose suicide earlier than the event because i experienced 2 situations where the people did:
When I was teaching high school I was sometimes very tired and would sort of drift into another level of consciousness even at school where I seemed to hear people thinking(but I didn't know then that I did)---
One young fellow announced one day he was quitting school to join the army, and die there. I was shocked to hear that but no one else who was listening paid any attention to the last part. I thought I made up his prophecy to die and was really down on myself for having such a gross imagination. Later we received word that the fellow was killed within a month of arriving in active duty.
The other one was also a student, a girl who was having trouble with her father running her life. I was completely unprepared for the rage she expressed one day; then I realized it was telepathy. She was so maddened by her feelings that i was terrified and couldn't fully understand the flood of words and images. I saw her die from her own eyes altho the actual event of being hit by a car happened about 10 years later.
Weird that they both used other people to bring about their deaths. (I knew another person who committed suicide but I picked up no message from him.) I regret that i didn't have the will or knowledge to reach out to them then.
It seems i have rather bleak spiritual contacts.

We can choose some challenges and the environment where we would like to live on. Once in this scenario all that we do is free will and the results will depend on our actions.  

About our death it can be natural or accidental depending on the needs of the spirit. Once you are not looking for your death if it happens it’s because there were the need of such experience and the maturity (of the soul) that such experience will bring to you.

Suicide means throwing away the chance you were given so it’s not a valid option and the consequences are very hard to deal with. Believe me.

It seems to me that we're going to have some choice in the matter while we're down here. Even if we made a decision before hand, what if we changed our mind? Wouldn't we have a choice?

Where did the idea of our death being determined ahead of time come from? Did one source assert this possibility, and then a lot of people started repeating it without verification?

I really don't know.

I meant it's possible to change the plans to our death. to achieve it is necessary to remove the needs to a specific experiences once we grow up and become more mature (spritualy).

Hello everyone,
Last night I watched a documentary on TV about the 9/11 and the people they call "the jumpers".
The whole program brought back many feelings so I wish I hadn't watched at all but at the same time I was glad I did. I don't want to forget the unimaginable pain these souls put their name down for and the admiration they deserve from me.
At the end of the program I was left with many questions. Many were obvious ones because my human brain, sometimes has dificulty seeing the bigger picture when faced with this kind of evil.
Other questions were more of the spiritual nature, like
- Did these men and women really choose to die jumping off the 106th floor of the World Trade Center?
- Will they be considered suicides because they should have waited  to die inside the towers?
- Did their souls leave their bodies before they reached the ground?
- What could have possibly been learned from dying in such a horrible way?
I was really touched by the story of the father of one of "the jumpers".
He is a preacher and he got his family together to pray. He prayed and prayed for hours, talking to God reminding him of how he had served and loved him all his life and demanding that he made a miracle so that his son could be found. The next day he got a call from the coroners office to let him know they found his son's body.....
As much as I was touched I couldn't help asking myself what about all the other heartbroken families?
-Would've it been different for them have they prayed?
I don't think this man was the only one who prayed that day.
-Are prayers louder when they come from a preacher?
-Or is a preacher more derseving of miracles than an atheist who's never prayed?
-Or has it anything to do with how much suffering each of us can take?

That's the biggest, most wondrous blessing I've learned---  that prayer changes outcomes, and can even change around what was perceived to have happened.
Maybe that preacher really prayed, not just demanded or asked on the run, etc. Maybe others prayed too and got results but didn't publically report their experiences. Prayer is awesome.

Why is it that I prayed and prayed, my family prayed, friends prayed, relatives prayed, strangers prayed my daughter prayed that she wouldn't die, but she did.... and a horrific ordeal with her leukemia and bone marrow transplant.... so much for prayer!
I can't accept that she choose to die this way.

I am sorry for your loss, and I do understand your frustration. It must be hard to let go, when you have held something so close to your heart. A child's love for there parent is one of purity and so to the love the parent gives to there child.There are things for each to learn , living within the moment holding those precious memory's of love, are something you will never loose.

Alas you cant change destiny with prayers, for that stage play had already been written, and the agreements made. Your prays however do carry a vibration and that vibration was there held waiting for your daughters arrival,when she left this mortal plane. I know it maybe hard to believe but in truth there is only a thin Vail between you and your daughter and the time will pass by quickly and before you know it you and she will be reconnected,  

If you focus on the joy she brought you, the love you both sheared then her job will have been well served.

I send you love so your healing may come with greater speed.

I've yet to see Prayer change the outcome of an event.

We all must die, you can pray and pray and pray, but you will die one day. I've come to accept this fact.

People who died in those WTC towers for example, they could have been praying their butt's off, it wasn't gonna do a darn bit of good.

So how can prayer change events if it only seems to work .001% of the time?

I've told this story before, but it really fits this thread...

My husband John had worked trimming trees for thirty something years...it's a dangerous job anyway, and he took the worst of the worst (at first because he was young and "ten feet tall and bullet proof", then because he had the most experience). For over three decades he never had a serious accident...a few very small chain saw nicks, that sort of thing, but *nothing* major, or even close.  No real close calls, either.

About this time last year, he got smacked in the face by a hook on a cable that they pick up big logs with...guy running it wasn't watching what he was doing, and swung it around behind a truck where he couldn't see who was there.  John saw it coming and ducked just in time...it caught him along the right side of the head, but just a glancing blow.  Broke his nose and his glasses, took a couple of chunks out of his face and blacked his eye, but that's it.

Last fall he was on the ground running the ropes, since it was a difficult and dangerous spot, and a tree limb, *not* the one they were cutting, came down and hit him in the same place the hook did in the spring, and killed him.  

I think maybe we "choose" our death in that sense...as if he decided "sometime in his early fifties, from a blow to the head", that sort of detail, not necessarily  with the detail of "two p.m. on the third of May from the sting of a specific species of scorpion while hiking at a specific place".

Hi My cousins  little girl LEANNE died when she was 4 yrs old .She was born with brain damage,blind,deaf and dumb. She was a pretty little girl ,had lovely brown eyes. But she always showed signs of knowing we were around her,she always smiled. I think its because she could sense the love around her. She was not on the earth plain very long but her spirit learned about love. God bless juditha

Cricket, you seem to have a very good handle on how it is we choose our transitions.

There seems to be a lot of confusion about this. We aren't robots with every single minute of our lives planned. I believe that we choose the events in our lives that give us the greatest opportunity for spiritual growth for us and those around us as we work out karma. The same goes for our transitions.

Everybody needs to read Bruce's 4th book "Voyage to Curiosity's Father" and see about the 'tapestry of time.'

Actually its not you who chooses at all, its your higher self. For the most part, all our so called free will is but fleeting moments of choice. That our higher selves arrange for us.
