Title: Dream of a Bear Post by Marilyn Maitreya on Feb 28th, 2006 at 2:33pm
Thoughout my life I've had many dreams of bears. I've always had somewhat of a fear of them especially when I lived in the woods.
This time the bear came in my house (where it was I don't know). It took ahold of my wrist and wouldn't let go. I tried everything I could to get it to let go but it wouldn't do it. No one was around to help me. Finally it had let go and there was a deep hole in my wrist but no blood. I found an old friend who does live up here but that I haven't seen and showed him. He looked at my wrist and said it was nothing. Then I woke up. My Animal-Speak book by Ted Andrews always has good answers even though it's not a dream book but what animals mean when they come into our life. The Keynote of Bear: Awakening the Power of the Unconscious One paragraph really caught my eye: The bear can teach you to draw upon all of your inner stores of energy and essence even those which have never been tapped or accessed. Meditating and working with bear will help you to go within your soul's den, your inner sanctum, to find your answers. Bear medicine can teach you to go deep within so that you can make your choices and decisions from a position of power. On reflecting on the dream, I remember that he made no move other than chomping down on my wrist. Then he just stared at me. (I never think to send PUL to anything or anyone in dreams) Now I'm wondering if he was just trying to get my attention to go within more as I don't meditate regularly like I know I should. Any other ideas? Thanks for reading. Love, Mairlyn ;-) |

Hello Marylin:
I have dreams with male lions. For me, they're symbolic of fear. The bear bit you, yet you didn't have an injury. Perhap you're being told that you don't need to fear something you fear. Probably something other than bears. |

Thanks for your comments Albert. I once dreamed of a lion too (I'm a Leo). I'm feeling more and more that it was a symbol for me to meditate more and deeper (maybe fears with that?)
