Title: Getting a spirit guide? Post by mattb1000 on Feb 9th, 2006 at 10:22am
I feel that since about 5 months ago my soul has lost a piece of itself. I am not really sure why, but do feel that some form of spirit guide would help me greatly.
Any suggestions? |

Pray to God and/or ask your higher self.
Before you fall asleep ask to be given an answer in the form of a dream. I know that when I ask a question before I fall asleep, I tend to get an answer in the form of a dream. Expect that the dream will have symbolism that is catered to you. Have faith in your dreams. If you pay attention to them enough, after a while you'll realize that they are created by an intelligence beyond your ego intelligence. |

I believe we always have guides and guidance, but I also think we aren't always aware or paying attention. I agree with Recoverer about the dream stuff. Also, whatever you do, know what you want and then expect it to happen as if it already exists.
What do you think happened 5 months ago that made you feel this way? |

It sounds like you have lost an aspect of yourself and need to retrieve it. Do you have any idea what this aspect could be? Anything happen 5 months ago that would be traumatic and cause this?
Meditate and ask to see that aspect of yourself that you lost. Then wait for something to come to you. Pull that aspect into your heart center. I have done this numerous times and it always works for me. Love, Mairlyn ;-) |

Just a suggestion - If you meditate and go into the astral and ask for a guide, one will come to you. In past life work I occasionally have someone who wants a guide, so while they are deeply in trance and wandering about in the astral, I tell them to call out for a guide to come, and so far they have always been answered.
As opposed to guides, there are also techniques of soul retrival that might be more appropriate. Another thing that sometimes causes the same kind of complaints is attachment of an entity that interferes with normal functioning. Reliance on sensitives is certainly OK, but as you develop your own abilities to be sensitive, you'll probably want to do it yourself. Ultimately, that's the only way to really benefit from the spiritual experiences you have. dave |

When thinking about it I think it was when a familiy member of a similar young-ish age to me was diagnosed with cancer. I havent really been close with the person as Ive gotten older over the years but when we where very young we were closer. I think the fact that the person is ill has shaken me more than it should have mainly because I lost 2 older relatives over the last 5 years and always use to think that they would look after the younger family members if they have crossed over. :-/ |

Mattb1000--
Having something spiritually important taken from you can cause a jarring that knocks your spirit off-kilter. Or you could have ties to that ill family member that were more involved (from previous life experiences) than you realized and some of them broke at the shock. I've experienced both those situations. What healed me recently was something I heard here--relaxing and putting yourself in PUL. 'Pure Unconditional Love" is a blissful state like being kissed by the sun while lovingly cradled in the arms of a most loving person. And returning that love. (Other better descriptions are around this board and in Bruce's books.) After seeking out that state many days and affirming my intent to live in that state more, I felt a shift and then felt more whole. It could have been the arrival of a Spirit Guide or the reinstatement of my own soul. May you too soon experience that coming together. bets |

OK, so maybe it's the innocence of youth that you lost which happens to many people. When we're young, we think we'll live forever, that nothing will ever happen to us. I can't say for sure that this is what you feel you have lost, but it does make me feel that this might be it. When I took Lifeline, we did a self retrieval, the last tape of the week. I had no idea what was going to happen. While flying over the different focus levels with my Helper holding my hand, all of a sudden I felt a wham into my left shoulder and then a wham into my right shoulder. I knew immediately that these were my 'childhood innocence' and my 'child within.' They held on for dear life and I held onto them for dear life and then pulled them into my heart center. Over several days times, my shoulders would feel lighter and lighter until finally they were completely absorbed back into me. I know this sounds strange. But it happened. When I first read about losing aspects of ourselves in one of Bruce's books, I just couldn't understand it at all. It just didn't seem possible, no way. Well, I found out differently when I retrieved those 2 lost aspects of myself. Try it. I do think it's your childhood innocence that you've lost and are feeling it now. Much luck to you and much love to you. ;-) Love, Mairlyn ;-) |
