Title: Lucid dream world/Afterlife connection... Post by Chumley on Jan 23rd, 2006 at 2:05am
Some years ago (1992 I believe) I dreamed I met
someone I KNEW. He was an older, hard-looking man (seemed to be in his late 40's maybe) in a leather "duster-type" trenchcoat and a leather fedora... (Rather odd, he'd never dressed like that when I knew him.) We were in a barroom setting... and he was NOT pleased to see me. In fact, he didn't think certain aspirations of mine, had any hope of success. He was NOT friendly, and I do NOT wish to encounter him again, ever - if this was a real meeting in the "Astral world." I believe this man may have been my (deceased) grandfather. (I had a strong feeling upon waking that that's who it was.) I'd always thought that man wouldn't have liked some of the things I'd done, prior to having that dream. Confirmation perhaps? No matter where I end up after I die (if anywhere) can I at least forbid contact (or even knowledge that I'd "crossed over") by certain persons? B-man |

Did your dream experience happen early in the morning? Most people sleep at night, and wake up around 7:00am, 8:00am, 9:00am, ect. Our most vivid dreams and lucid dreams happen in REM state (rapid eye movement), it's the deepest sleep our bodies get. Our physical body is paralysed during REM sleep so we don't physically act out our dreams. REM sleep leaves our astral body seeing through our closed eyelides or floating in the air.
I assume you might have met your grandfather in the Astral world. However, during my astral projections, everything looks starry. The word astral means star. So the astral plane, or at least higher astral planes, has starry energy. If your grandfather is 'crossed over' to the astral world/other side, than I doubt you can keep away from him. We can see each other on the astral plane, just as we see each other here on the physical plane. :) ;) Good luck. |

Paranoid,
I just love your questions and twists on things. So true, why are we afraid? Why are we afraid of what others think of us? Why do we even waste our time with people who annoy us so much? In the afterlife, certainly we can move freely into a more positive experience if we so choose. That is, unless we are trapped somewhere, and it doesn't appear, according to the information on this site, that any traps are set which must last forever. We are free agents, all of us, free as we THINK we are. love, blink |

There's no place to hind, he'll be coming for you and he's bringing his duster with him. lol
Just kidding, who the hell knows? Sorry to make light of your concerns, the duster description just got to me. I myself have thought about putting on the duster when I get to the other side and paying a visit to a few people I know... If you know what I mean. I wouldn't worry about, if he does show up again someday, just tell him he looks ridiculous and get lost. |

Chumley,
I encountered a guy in a duster back in the 1970's when i was attempting to learn astral projection/OBE 2nd-hand thru a member of Eckankar. I thought I'd been to too many Chuck Connors movies (past wild western star.) He sure put a damper on my interest to travel OB even tho I thought then it was a made up dream. Now I wonder if that's a form a vengeful lost soul would take thinking he's protecting buddies that might have been retrieved away from his dusty arid world. One tough bully character for sure. His retrieval would need a whole gang of Helpers! (I sure liked his coat tho. ) |
