Title: Bruce's first book, Japanese version!
Post by Pres Nevins on Jan 6th, 2006 at 2:05am
Hi all!

After a hectic fourth quarter which included taking care of a stray kitten, catching the flu, and making Japanese subtitles for a Star Trek fan film ;D, I finally found the time to make it down to one of the big Osaka bookstores. Where to my delight, I found that the first volume of Bruce's Exploring the Afterlife series had been released in Japanese translation! Here it is on Amazon Japan.

It's translated by Shiozaki Masako, who did the translation for Monroe's Ultimate Journey, with translation consultation by Sakamoto Masamichi, a Japanese author who's written several books about his experiences with Monroe Institute programs that tend to get pretty good display space in the bookstores. (I posted here last June about him, as I recall) Having Mr. Sakamoto associated with the book seems to have helped Bruce get some display space of its own, as his book was facing out fairly prominently on the display area yesterday. So that's nice.

I've barely begun reading it at this point, but I was noticing...gee it takes more effort to read something in Japanese! I mean, duh, but usually I've read English books in English (because why go to the trouble of reading the translation), and Japanese-original books in Japanese (because they're rarely translated into English anyway), so I've rarely had the opportunity to read a book I've already read in one language, in the other. In English I blew through Voyages into the Unknown in a day, but it looks like the Japanese version is going to take me a tad longer than that... ;)

Reading away...
Pres

Hey Pres, good to see you again. And that's great about Bruce's first book. Enjoy the read. ;-)

Love, Mairlyn ;-)
