Title: Faded Memories
Post by Leilah on Jan 1st, 2006 at 3:38pm
Okay. So this is my first post here.  :D

I'v asked for help from some helpers lately. When I did so, the day after I remember things that were anything but dreamlike.

Here are two excerpts from my journal:

12/31/05

Oh yeah. There was something else. I get the feeling something strange and almost indescribable happened last night. I know it occured while I was conscious, but now it's all hazy. It just felt as if I felt EVERYTHING at once, while I was in the middle of it. Not to mention there were a lot of soft pastels and golds. EH. This is the only way I can even begin to explain it. I remember trying to describe to someone else in a dream. (That didn't work) But. I know this happened. I wish I could remember more.

1/1/05

Okay. I woke up in the middle of the night with the memory of some guy(?) talking with me. I remembered parts of our conversation. Then, I went back to sleep. Sadly, now I can barely remember anything he said.  I can just faintly hear his voice and visualize the way he was kneeling down beside my bed. Ah!! This is the second time something like this has happened.

Maybe I'm suppost to forget. But I beg to differ! Lol!
I just wonder why I'd remember these snippets of memories then... Could it stand as a confirmation from helpers/guides/etc., that they exist? You know like, "Yes, we can hear you loud and clear!"

Actually, that does make sense. But I feel like I'm just filling in the gaps here... Maybe Im just digging into this too far.

Do you think writing more dreams down would help remember such experiences? I dont see how it would, because that what I've been doing for the past two weeks. So. hmm. Its just funny that I remembered all my dreams from those two nights, but in those two experiences.. I can barely do so.

What methods would you suggest to remember such things?  OR Has anyone else gone through anything similar?

Please do share  :)

Hello, welcome!

Are you saying you had experiences where you had consciousness while they happened, or do you mean you weren't asleep when they happened?  Just curious.

If you want to start having better recall, just keep taking notes and even write down your dreams.  The act of writing helps you remember more and better details.

Even with the experiences you've already had, and you feel you don't remember much of...take those and re-write them out fresh from scratch.  For instance, you remembered the guy who was talking to you kneeling by your bed.  So re-write that describing exactly how he was kneeling, describe the detail of it all.  Also write down any parts of the conversation, even if you don't remember all of it.  Sometimes memory is better with feeling than with words.

I know I sound like a college professor now..."More, give me more!  This isn't enough!"  But that's what you need to do in order to bring out your memories of it.  Trust me, it really works, even if some time has passed since the experience happened.
Love, Vicky

Hi Leilah,
what you wrote sounds to me like you're in a process of opening up your awareness, you expressed that you want it by asking helpers. One simple trick to get more details is to not only try to get it while usual sleep at night, but during the day when you are NOT sleepy, but send only your body to rest/sleep but stay awake in mind. Aka meditation.

Thanks for the replies.  :)

Alysia,
It is comforting to hear you have gone through something similar. It's also exciting to know that such experiences took place when things started to "take off".

Vicky,
I was conscious while my body was snoozing away. I'll try rewriting these experiences, as you suggest, and try to put all my attention towards it. These memories are so tip-of-the-tongue phenomenna. Argh.   :P

Spooky,
I used to meditate all the time in the beginning of the year and I was making quick progress. But I got a bit lazy and now I'm back at sqaure one (sort of). Anywho, I appreciate your advice and will give it a go tomorrow.
