Title: Has anyone ever had afterlife contact by candle?
Post by EileenY on Dec 8th, 2005 at 9:15am
Has anyone ever had afterlife contact by candle?

Last night in my section of town the electricity went out for 3 hours.  After about 20 minutes I decided to light candles.  One of the candles was acting(for lack of a better word) strange.  The other candles just had a constant light.  One candle was going up and down and around in light.  They were all the same kind of canles and had the same amount of use on them.  I thought of what all of you had said and I asked Michael is that you.  The light went crazy.  Then I began asking questions.  About an hour into this a neighobor dropped by to see if I was ok.  We talked for a few minutes and she said what is going on with that candle?  I said I don't know.  Then she said it is Michael contacting you.  She then began asking questions.

As usual I think I am losing my mind.  I am trying to stay very open.  But, I want to make sure that I have some check and balances to what is going on.  Everyday I have had the INTENT to be in contact with Michael.

Opinions would be greatly appreciated,

Eileen

There I s an ancient form of magic known as candle magic. This form of magic (I find)  often a useful prelude to what many call afterlife communication.

It usually involves staring at a candle flame or fire.  This usually has the effect of focusing the attention which often facilitates “communication”.

When doing this, the most important thing is PAY ATTENTION!

What    you describe is not unusual, s don’t worry about going crazy.  But even “crazy” isn’t a terrible thing.  Many of us here are “crazy”; it makes things more interesting.

Hi Eileen,

There aren't going to really be any right or wrong answers with this sort of thing.  Most experiences are going to be of a personal nature, and you have to use your own judgement of what you experienced.

I suggest you get yourself a notebook devoted only to writing down instances where you think you may have experienced contact with Michael.  Even if you aren't sure, write it down anyway.  This only has to be for your eyes, so don't be embarrassed what you write down.  But do keep track of strange things like this, and then I also suggest not just jotting down what happened but also write out how it made you feel, what you were thinking, etc.   The act of writing helps you think, and you will be surprised at how much you can discover about yourself through your writing.

Love, Vicky   :)

That is such a classic Spitfire comment.  Don't take offense.  It was, I'm sure meant in jest.

I've had contact with Maitreya who is an Ascended Master and my Twin Ray focusing on a candle. Instead of afterlife contact, I'd call it 'other dimension' contact. ;-)

Aye lol, well everyone on this board see's everything as spiritual do-dars. but as has been shown with alot of paranormal activity's, 99.9% can be explained easily enough, but the mind focus's on our wants so much, we can create somthing out of nothing.

Im not saying it was'nt your husband, im just saying it's very unlikely.

Hear everthing, trust nothing, is the best advice i can give to you.

Yes, I checked the doors, the windows everything.  What made me notice it in the first place was I had multiple candles out.  Only one of the candles was doing this.

I agree we have to check for other reason before we believe.

Of course, an open window (and the resulting draft) should have caused ALL the candle flames to gutter and flicker... right?
Then again, I have my doubts about "candle magic" too. (But wouldn't it be kinda cool if there WAS something to it? I could play blackjack online and ask the candle if the next hand would be a winner... a flickering would indicate "yes" and so on...)
Me, I guess I'd have to be there and see it before I passed judgement, though. (I'm not sure whether I want this "metaphysical" stuff to be for real or not. Is that your stand also, Spitfire?)

Hi everyone.  This thread brought to mind an incident which happened a few years back.  I can verify this because I was there.  I was staying with a relative temporarily as I was in the process of leaving the state.  She had no metaphysical knowledge at all but she had this guide that she could communicate with.  He would occasionally make himself visable to her and she has quite a gift of being able to see pictures of events while simply being relaxed.  Anyway, we decided to dim the lights and light a candle and just relax and see if her guide would talk to us.  He did and while we were talking, the candle went out.  We had the dimmed light on and would have to get out of relaxed position to relight the candle.  The guide offered to relight it for us and he did!!  :o.  We were startled but very happy that this happened.

I often look at a candle flame just to relax.  It is almost like you are communicating with it.  Maybe someday it will tell me its secrets.   :D

Very cool ap.  Yes, a candle is very mesmerizing. I'll gaze at one and then take my glasses off and I see so much more.  Think I'll gaze at my 2 ft. high fiber optic Christmas tree tonight. ;-)

i could have fun with this one.  I can think of all sorts of experiments to do with a quirky candle flame.  you could isolate it with an enclosure to see if it continues.  you could swap it out with one of the other candles to see if it's the location or the candle.  you could talk to the candle flame and pose some questions - of course bearing in mind very little breath will make the candle bounce - maybe better to ask questions when it's enclosed.  You could try it on different nights in different locations.  Open windows aren't the only source of drafts though.  Houses have many air currents in them - heating systems, natural air movement, appliance venting, kitchen venting, that sort of thing.

I had a ladder leaning up against the house when I was painting.  Overnight I tied a rope to the top and pulled the ladder away from the house and tied it to a stack of lumber so the paint could dry without leaving two ladder marks where it was resting on it.  (this ladder was a huge industrial 40' heavy duty and I didn't want to take it down and put it back up).  The next morning I came out and noticed the rope holding the ladder kept quivering at a rate between 69 and 72 movements per minute. yes, I timed it.  I stopped it several times, but it would start immediately and settle into 69 to 72 per minute.  I thought it was spooky - my ladder has a normal human heartbeat!  I watched it off and on all morning, till, whadya know, mid morning it stopped all together and was still as can be.  My conclusion: the ladder was made of aluminum and began it's quivering when the morning sun hit it and began warming it.  As the aluminum expanded, it made the upper section (in sun) of the ladder grow in consistent jerks against the lower section (not in sun) that were too small to see, but large enough to make 60 feet of rope quiver in a resonant manner.  The rope was just a visual amplifier allowing the movement to be detected.  I'm waiting for my ladder to begin shedding tears of blood, and will investigate that as well....sorry, a virgin mary joke.

I like to do experiments with this sort of thing.  Most things have an explanation.  Some don't.  But even the ones that do should not be written off as mere coincidence just because they could have happened anyway.  This goes back to what Vicky said.  It's more important what it means to you at the time and that you put it in that context.  I can explain away things like a heartbeat in my extension ladder, but when a redtail hawk flys directly across my path, I feel blessed for the rest of the day.   Sure, he might have done it anyway, but that wasn't how I took it.  I don't try to read any message or something complicated into it, more of just a generally good thing in a world where too often good stuff isn't as recognizable as bad stuff.   Don't write off stuff just because you're hungry for signs.  Maybe this hunger could be you projecting your love, which would indeed be a way to invite more "explainable coincidences" into your life.  Now if a person has half a dozen "explainable conincidences" in a week or a day, are they still coincidences as a group?  One must decide all these things for herself.

The candle story reminded me of some writing by Raymond Moody that might interest you. Candle-gazing has a long history, apparently. Moody has worked with other things and if you web-search his name I'm sure you can find out about them. I haven't read his book Reunions but since the candle was what you experienced maybe stuff like scrying is a route that would be useful to you.

We get different levels of information from events. The candles may not tell you the best stock to buy/sell the next day, but if they have a personal meaning then why ignore them? Sometimes researchers don't ask the right questions. You have to go on what you know.

It was him. He is always available to you, but won't want to scare you.

However, I wouldn't start using Quiji boards and stuff like that, or even keep looking to candles to give you his essence or show his presence. That can become a substitute for the love that made and continues to make your relationship with him wonderful and special. Relationships change, but they never end for we never die.

Try to just know he is with you always, and you may stop feeling like you are going crazy. And please accept my sympathy for what you are going through. I understand somewhat, for I lost my mother when I was 16 and am losing my husband now, at 50-something. But we go on and continue this journey, as we should and as they would want us to. The world still needs us, so hang in there.

Hugs,

Laurie

Dear Eileen

This sounds like poltergeist activity to me, not messages from Michael.
