Title: The disk
Post by gerald on Nov 29th, 2005 at 8:37am
I think that Robert Monroe named it the I-Thing. Has anyone here seen his disk or other and could described it.

I figured that its not only a disk like a hockey puck but must be different one from the other somewhat.

 Hi there Gerald,

I haven't seen the Totality of my I-there/Disk, but i've met a few graduates in there in dreams, meditation, and hypnosis.  I think i've felt it--the Totality once or twice, but it is hard to put into words, like many have said, its just a very deep feeling of love and acceptance.

I'm not completely sure, but i think Bruce calls it "disk" because of a computer reference to info memory and storage?

A Disk is really just a more expanded version of YOU, but made up of many, many other selves all intertwined...

The personality of "Gerald" was originally made up of a certain pattern and limited number of selves within your Total Self, and you're working on certain Karmic issues, as Gerald grows and learns, he becomes more than just a surrogate (as Monroe said) and becomes a Disk member unto himself, and hopefully he will graduate and becomes a graduate member of his Disk.   Our Disks always look forward to us waking up enough to realize where we came from....

Interesting stuff though, many thanks to the pioneering people of TMI. ;) :)

Gerald,

A Swedenborgian definition" of "disk": "An illusion of multiple selves created by unconcious spirit mergers in which the memories of the merging spirits are mistaken for one's own."   Swedenborg's higher guides created a standing offer to demonstrate this illusion by direct experience to any reincarnationist who was not too "stuck" in this perspective.   Many top mediums warn of the danger of confusing unconscious spirit contact with past life recall.   Their earnings dissuaded past life therapist David Fontana from being dogmatic about his reincarnationist belief system.  It is commonly recognized that in possession cases, the memories of the invading discarnate seem to be one's own.

Don

P.S. Try to imagine what life in the so-called Disk is like.  It sounds pretty suffocating, doesn't it?   Nevertheless, I'm still open the possbility that SOME people may reincarnate.
