Title: Something interesting... Hiccups... Post by Chumley on Nov 21st, 2005 at 2:06am
Last night (Saturday.)
I was drinking, when I had a hiccup attack. I hate it when that happens, as the hiccups tend to make my bile rise in my esophagus, taking what normally feels good (getting intoxicated) and making me feel ill...wanting to stop drinking for the night. And as it happened, I'd only had 3 and one-half beers and only the beginnings of a buzz - and Saturday night comes only once a week, you know! Now, Richard mentioned something interesting in one of his replies to my "Bully's Hell" posting. He claims that our "soul group" maintains a sort of tyranny over our lives... that THEY choose what happens to us. (Naturally, that though incenses me somewhat...) I've read that your "soul group" or "disk" is your "HIGHER SELF." It controls your BODY'S reactions (which might explain why you can have powerful physical reactions to stress, ect. that your ego/mind has a HELL of a time controlling...) Now, I REALLY didn't want that hiccup attack... so here's what I did. I went out to my car (away from anyone who might hear or see me) and said this: "Listen, you bastards. This is MY life, and I'm tired of you f**king with me. If you keep on screwing with my life, it'll be WAR when I get back to you, I PROMISE YOU THAT. All I ask for is MUTUAL RESPECT. If I don't get it, I'll make your lives HELL when it is your time to incarnate! Now... STOP these hiccups." (*NOTE* I kept cool, no yelling, just stated my demand firmly and with feeling, meaning EVERY WORD of it...) The hiccups immediately stopped, and the bile went down in my throat! I happily went back to the bar, and ordered another round... Have I made a discovery here? Have I learned a way around, say... my body betraying me under stress, et cetera? (Especially that god-awful "fight or flight" reaction, which takes away my ability to think on my feet..!) In other words, to order "those responsible" for these reactions to "lay off me, or ELSE?" (If so, then the time I've spent researching this stuff has paid for itself, lemme tell ya!!!) What do you all think? B-man |

So, the higher self,my higher self is my disk group? Thanks for putting it that clearly. It's something that i was wondering about.
Effectively, what you did was a well aimed, heart felt prayer. My last 'prayer', actually a demand similar to yours, got results within 10 minutes. Profanity can work as well or better than amen. No more begging to some god who may or may not be out there somewhere. MS |

B-man,
Our conscious minds can change our present reality, usually when we are very relaxed, and in meditation - we tap into the essence (some would say subconsious or soul). I don't think these were individual entities taking away your hiccups. If you make suggestions to yourself in a relaxed state, with absolute clear and positive intent, they will manifest in reality. You may have tapped into a great power we all have access to. M-man |

MS,
To me, it is about realizing that we have access to this ability to manifest change here with calm absolute intent. Prayer can be like that. Often if done while angry, then doubt and conflicting intentions may be present - and it may not be effective. M |

B-man,
Take Nexium or stop drinking. Love, M-woman ***************** And give up one of my chief pleasures in this world? Nyet. (And it'd better be there in the next world, too..!) Just because I like to drink, doesn't make me an alkie, you know... (Actually, I'm aware of the danger. Both of my grandfathers and several other men in my family basically whiskey-tipped themselves to death. I've maintained discipline with it for about 10 years now (only drink one night a week - gives me something to look forward to every seven days!) because I honestly NEVER want to hear the doctor say... "If you don't stop drinking, you will be dead in (fill in the blank!) months..." Just like the docs told Grandpa, and he didn't listen...) But I digress. There was a time when I was younger, that I realized my drinking WAS getting out of hand, though... when I was about 20 and in the service, I found myself going to the NCO club 5-6 days a week and putting away at LEAST a six-pack (with a couple of shots too) every evening after work. (That plus my Saturday night binge... CRIPES, I was a guzzler back then. Makes me wonder how I did it and was able to function! And in Germany (where I was stationed) I could drink to my heart's content and had the money to buy all I wanted, even though I was underage!) I saw what was happening, and nipped it in the bud... haven't done anything like it since. I've always been grateful to Grandpa for the object lesson he provided me... Nowadays, I avoid liquor/stick to beer, all the common-sense stuff. Anyway, thanks for the concern... B-man |

That applies, whatever the mental state. Calm, depressed, angry, whatever. The key, imo is, being in tune w the universe/tao at the time. MS |

Chumley:
You are quite the spin doctor. Perhaps you should work for FOX news. |

My first thought when reading your post was that "they" were trying to get your attention..and it looks like it worked! ;)
To get your attention for what? Why, to get a dialogue going, of course! So, now that you've opened the door..there is so much more to explore. |

Good for you Brendan. You see I have an alcoholic daughter that I live with and I've seen what alcoholism has done to so many. But so glad that you nipped it in the bud.
Love, Mairlyn ;-) |
