Title: IMPORTANT INFORMATION for everyone here... Post by Chumley on Nov 18th, 2005 at 6:07am
CHECK OUT this webpage article. (Don't worry, it's VERY short...)
Read it CAREFULLY, and THINK about it!!! http://www.galactic-guide.com/articles/2U56.html This strikes me as a REAL possibility for what happens when you die. It is PERFECTLY in agreement with what we know about science, and would account nicely for near-death experiences. If you think you'd be O.K. in your "forever dream", then no problem I guess. (First thing to ask yourself, is how well you can CONTROL your dreams. Most people - myself included! - CAN'T dream lucidly.) If you can't control your dreams... AND you have a ruminative personality, or have terrifying memories (like crime victims, accident survivors, war vets, or what have you) or if you tend towards macabre thinking (as I do...) I would advise you to request HEAVY SURGICAL ANESTHESIA (enough to shut down the dream center of your brain!) when you know death is near. (A living will might come in handy...) And for "God's" sake, stay away from swimming in dangerous areas..! (Drowning is STRONGLY associated with rather florid NDEs from what I've read! I'm sure you can think for yourselves of what other things to avoid as well...) IT IS POSSIBLE that materialism is true, you can't deny that fact. What I have described, is the materialist afterlife! Sound like fun? (Didn't think so!) Fortunately, logic would indicate that this danger is avoidable if proper steps are taken (i.e., surgical anesthesia!) This (simple and parsimonious!) view of what happens after you die would nicely explain the myriads of reported NDEs in the literature, together with the TOTAL LACK of scientific evidence for (or even reliable, consistent anecdotal clues pointing to) a "spiritual reality." See what I'm saying..? Hoping to be of service to all who read this, B-man |

This is the blind leading the blind:
"When dying the reverse happens. As we, the living, see the beloved or whatever cease to live, that person experiences an afterlife with a duration extending to infinity. This effect is due to a change in the speed of the internal clock, induced by death-related chemical reactions in the brain." That statement has no known basis in science or fact. The experience of consciousness explorers does not support this hypothesis. Chumley, if the last few seconds of our lives stretched in our mind to infinity, there would be no afterlife contact at all. When your grandma was dead, she would have reached the end of her infinity. Any attempts to contact the spirit then would never work after her demise in C1. I think a basic stumbling point here is that you believe in what Dave called the primacy of matter. That our dying brain and chemicals is primary and our spirit is secondary. Why do you seek out these websites showing agonizing eternities as afterlife alternatives? Theories will come endlessly; only by exploring for yourself with TMI or via meditation will you be open to the truth. Matthew |

Really like your above post Matthew. It would awesome if we had more Doctors in the world, and especially in the U.S., like you--people that consider we're not just physical matter...lol and a hell of a lot more :)
Much Appreciation |

Hi folks-
I'm with Matthew in this. However, we can view the electrochemical processes of the body as potentially radiating a field in all directions. Then that field will expand forever, altering the nature of the cosmos as it expands. Each interaction will manifest our nature, so we could take the posture that our "afterlife" as an expanding field of influences is infinite and eterna. By adding the kinetic interactions and sequences of our lives, we could even make an argument for the material projection of the individual after death. This is not too far from the "eternal" idea. Given this kind of afterlife, we would expect people to occasionally repot that in their interlife phase, between lifetimes, they would find themselves to be part of the distrbuted furniture of their world. On two specific occasions people have reported this to me, that they sort of "became everything" and that their existence got "smeared" over all the fireplugs, trees, rocks and clouds of their universe, yet without loss of self. The next step, however, seems to differ with the "once through to eternity" model. The circumstances surrounding the death of the actor, also continue through the world, When the tendencies and dynamics expressing the past nature of the actor, ie: the past karmic residues, come into phase at a moment propitious to birth, then there is a strong tendency for the rest of the actor's properties to occur, through development, and we see a rebirth. That doesn't negate the continued expansion of the prior influences through time and space. The impression seems to be one of a series of manifestations, each arising from its predecessor, as the predecessor expands indefinitely outward into the surounding void. While this seems a bit strange initially, it is actually no difference from returning to a world in which we worked to create changes, and in the next life we experience those changes. Aside from the :"black hole" idea, this interpretation of the link is that the writer failed to continue with the idea to include further events, giving up when the first "infinity" arose. The "black hole" idea is, in my estimation, out of place. Material phenomena of that type do not look the same way when we deal exclusively with information in a context, or entropy fields. But maybe I'm just being picky. dave |

Actually, that article is kind of a good argument against suicide, isn't it? Well, not really, but let's pretend...
Don't go into the water! There's Sharks in there! Be Afraid, be very Afraid! Look behind you, they could be about to PUSH you in! It will be Bad! Very Bad! The Sharks will eat you in infinitely small bites!! Then they'll do it again! See that sign -- it says No Swimming Allowed! Always do what the sign says! Oh.....it says no "filming" allowed.....I need to get my prescription adjusted.... I haven't really "seen" anything bad over there yet, but others have. If there is an afterlife I don't think my grandmother could have given me a message while she was dreaming into infinity..... but I don't really know. love, blink ;) |
