Well, it's nearly Halloween, anyone want to talk about ghosts?  

When my son was 4 we bought our first real house, and a few months after moving in my son said to me, out of the blue, "Now that both the old people are dead, are they going to haunt our house?" I asked him what old people he was talking about.  He said the people who lived here before us.  I told him only one of them had died and no, of course not.  He said, "But both of them are in the ground now."  I told him I didn't know that.  

We bought the house from the original owners who were in their 80s when we bought it.  The wife was very ill at the time.  I had heard a short time later that she died, but we had not talked about this at all, so I didn't know how he knew.

I decided to check with the neighbor who had known the old couple for several years.  I just casually asked her if she knew how the man was doing, and she said she had just found out a couple days ago that he had passed away.  She said she had been meaning to tell me.  

My son later had a vision of an older couple.  Not just a still-picture vision, but an active one.  He said they were trying to talk to him and get his attention, but he didn't know what to do so he just stood there.  By the way he described it, I knew he was telling the truth.  He described how the vision occurred in his mind, even though he could still see his bedroom.  He described how the old couple was dressed, and how they first tried to talk to him but when he did not respond, they spoke to each other.  He couldn't remember what they were saying.  

I think the people in his vision were the original owners, although I don't know why they would stick around or why they would appear to my son.

yes, what did they want? And, your son, he wasn't scared? I think I would, maybe this is the cause why I haven't seen any ghost so far. So no Halloween story from me!

Hi Spooky, how are you?  

He was a little scared during the vision of the two spirits talking, but mostly because he didn't understand what was happening.  We will never know what they wanted.  He's kind of used to this sort of thing anyway.  I remember him as a toddler talking to someone in his room.  I only would hear his responses, but it sounded like someone was asking him questions.  He wouldn't tell me who he was talking to.
