Thank you for your respect to all here who have that belief and that knowledge.  I hope we have shown respect to you also.  Sometimes the only way to survive in this world is to have a little detachment from what causes you to lose hope.  Then you can move towards people and experiences which are life-giving.

However, due to the fact that I've come to suspect reincarnation MIGHT be true (no faith in it, though) I've since changed my stance on that.
Anyway...
If you hate people, why do you want an afterlife? Then you'd have to be around people FOREVER... including some folks who you REALLY hated in this life... and you'd have to be FRIENDLY to them. Is that really what you want?
Me, I could cop to reincarnation, provided I got to
specify the details of my new life...
But I DON'T want to go to "heaven." That's the most social/willy-nilly/un-private place I can imagine! Why do YOU want it?

Why do you assume the afterlife is limited to the bible's version?  That is just one view among many..

I think you will be in for quite a surprise when you hit the other side.. ;)

I have another ..hmm, not sure how to qualify this.."feeling?" "intuition?"  whatever..that your angst over the whole thing..the physical life, the need to control what your physical existance is and is not comes more from you current physical psyche rather than from within the real you, that is your soul/spirit..

I feel truly humbled by the deep respect you have both shown towards nomad in your responses.  I sense a commonality between all three of you and hope to see more of your supporting each other on this board.  Sometimes the rest of us get a little carried away in our exchanges regarding the afterlife and honing up on better techniques on how to explore it, and forget that for others it’s a whole new ball game.  We forget that some individuals come here in desperation, with no prior studies or heartfelt experiences of the it-- seeking just to have someone out there that truly can meet them where they’re at and dialogue.  Since we’re all at different levels on this board and have our own unique specialties, including yourselves, we come here as equals on our sometimes lonely feeling journeys towards discovering what the “bleep” it’s all about.  The input from you guys has reminded me of this.  And, oh nomad, I’d take the tip from B-man and really start planning your next like now ‘cause maybe you’ll start living it in this life soon. What do you have to loose, your life? Ha, ha!!!  ::) ;D
