Title: Premonition About Discovery
Post by Claudio Pisani on Jul 31st, 2005 at 2:37pm
Some days ago  the headline on the Italian TGcom:
No more Troubles :
Discovery's touch-down is not at risk appeared to my eyes for a few seconds like this:
Troubles during the touch down:
Discovery's reenter wasn't successful. After a few I realized that I'd read a wrong news. May be a "future" news? ???
Hope to be wrong....

P.S.
I feel  the astronauts won't die this time, but they will have big troubles during the touch-down.

Let's hope you're not right. However, in one of the newsletters I get, the creator of it says that with the X-class solar flares that we're having now, there is so much solar radiation out that they he feels it was very foolish of NASA to let it leave, and especially for them to have their spacewalk. Let's pray that all goes well.  ::)

Love, Mairlyn ;-)

Mairlyn ,
I pray and cross my F&T with you and all the rest of the world for a safe re-enter of Discovery and its crew members. The image in the screen was very real and lasted  a few seconds. I was puzzled about the reasons why the headline already talked about the re-enter, whilst  the Shuttle was still orbiting.
Much L,L& Serenity.

Hi Claudio
Did you get a chance to see why NASA was concerned about re-entry even though they just took off? Some foam insulation broke off on the take-off though it didn't seem to hit anything on the ship. Then there is a piece of dangling fabric that could potentially overheat on reentry. They are quite jumpy about this flight. Well the astronauts seem to be having fun and I wish them well.
