The other night, I started thinking about my father. He died nearly 25 years ago, and except for a few experiences in the months following, I've not dreamed or had any kind of contact with him at all.
Well, the other night, I was hoping to connect.  I've tried before, with no success.
My husband was already sleeping soundly.  I reached out, thought of him and how he was..nothing.  Blackness and silence.
When I turned over to go to sleep, my husband woke up to tell me of a weird dream.  He dreamed he was a barber.  A man came in and wanted a shave.  The odd thing was, the man was covered in hair, I guess along the lines of bigfoot? and with long hair.
What's so odd..my father was a barber..and retired military.  He hated long hair on a man.  In fact, he would tell men to their face "Come on, I'll cut it for free!"

So..was this an odd contact through him?  Coincidence that he would dream such a thing while I attempted to contact my father?

I'm going to try again tonight..see if hubby has another barber dream..or even a machinist dream.  (He was a machinist too :) )

I don't think it is a coincidence at all.  I think your husband picked up on your thoughts.  I don't know if your father was trying to contact either of you in this way, but at the very least your husband picked up on your thoughts subconsciously and that's why he had the dream, and I do believe the dream was about your dad.  

My husband has done this to me on a couple occasions and it has been pretty remarkable.  The last one he had happened a week or so ago.  I didn't tell him that I had asked a friend of mine to get me in touch with another friend who I hadn't seen or spoken to in many years.  (My husband didn't know about this.)  The next day I happened to ask him what he dreamed last night and he said, "I dreamed of Missy.  I told her that you were trying to find her".  I thought it was amazing, but he only thought of it as coincidence.  How could this be coincidence when I hadn't spoken about Missy or seen her in many years?

hi Shirley. a friend and I on another board discuss dreams lot. she mentioned her and her hubby had the same dream once where they came to a cravasse to cross; hubby was more athletic and jumped it, while in her dream, she found a bridge to walk across, but it turned out to be the same cravasse and surroundings and they dreamed on the same night.

one time I was drawing cartoons late into the night...my daughters awoke the next morning, age 10 then, and told me they had dreamed of a cartoon figure, both of them the same dream.

so I don't believe in coincidences, besides my girls didn't watch cartoons. lol. they watched "loveboat."
