Title: If "Afterlife Body" is duplicate of phys
Post by Brendan on Jul 14th, 2005 at 1:31am
Might the body you get upon reincarnation be similar
to the last one?
And might changes you WILLFULLY made to it, carry over to the next one?
Here's what I'm saying... I think the greatest experiences are to be had in the PHYSICAL realm,
with its merit-derived rewards and yes, DANGERS.
I might well be a "reincarnation rider" if you will...
forever reincarnating, as I'd find "spiritual" life to be
Dullsville, I'm sure of that. No good food? No beer? No SEX? GROUP HYMN SINGING? Yuck-a-mungo. Take my spot in "heaven", it's yours for free...
NOW... I life weights, try to keep in shape, yadda
yadda. I'm a fairly muscular and athletic guy.
Might these tendencies follow me in my physical incarnations, perhaps even intensify? Or might the mental discipline I've set as one of my life's missions be intensified with each new incarnation?
Also... if my "energy body" is a duplicate of my physical one, can I willfully keep returning as a HUMAN MALE (in my opinion, a perfectly heathy (mentally and physically) well-put-together human male is potentially the optimum life-form conceivable.) I'm not curious about what it's like to be a woman, and would NEVER want to incarnate as one (Childbirth? Not something I'd want to experience. Gives me the heebie-jeebies just thinking about it... not to mention having sex with... men (ugh... isn't it amazing that us guys get laid at all? The (well-put-together!) male body is a truly elegant MACHINE... but it's a MACHINE, not a sexy thing! Kind of like a custom Jeep. But fortunately for us guys, women seem to dig us... how strange! One of the mysterious glories of being a human male, and all the sadder for the ladies...), plus the fact that women are, have always been, and will always be subordinated to men in human societies... true "equality of the sexes" will never happen, even as the sun will never orbit the earth. Good ol' NATURAL LAW doing its thing... sorry, PC fans.)

Women subordinate to men?  I don't think so, not in this life or the next.
I have a feeling you will be surprised in both the afterlife and your next life..lol..

well thats your opinion about the subordination thing. remember the saying that men wear the pants but the woman picks out the color? well it's not even that way. the guy wouldn't even be able to find his pants if not for the woman. he keeps misplacing them. they're a team, a working unit. be careful to look at ideas which seem unacceptable, because those unacceptable ideas keep coming back around until we do accept or at least understand them.
case in point: I was into country and western music, the higher caliber face of it that was changing. my husband was like blah....he's on the other side now, and I told him since he didn't like it, how quaint that he should link up with me, a lover of it, and he might as well try to understand it because it might be a requirement for the rounding out of his soul. btw, women don't necessarily enjoy childbirth either you know but somebody's got to do it. love, alysia

You have an odd view of the afterlife..group hymn singing? Not me!

Sex? Better in the spiritual than you can imagine..

I'm not one for beer..rather like having all my faculties..

Outside beauty..or "handsomeness" if you like..is just that.  And it gets old and worn out..but the spirit..now that is forever young..and as beautiful as you choose it to be..

Sex in the astral..the ultimate..

That's no NATURAL law Brendan. That's the convoluted minds of men for power, pure and simple. The early church is guilty of this but it started long before this.

The NATURAL LAW is the feminine and masculine being equal. All of your posts show how terribly fearful you are of losing your masculinity. Take a good hard look at yourself and start searching INSIDE. It's not your equipment that makes you a man. :o

Peace from a feminine being who has been male many times,
Mairlyn

Yes, Brendan, I think the positive things you do to improve your character and internal fortitude will follow you.

Women are not the weaker sex.  There is no weaker sex. It is natural that you are happy being who you are.  I won't contradict that.

To be fully human is to be both male and female. The very definition of human includes both. I think this is part of our learning curve. I also think much of the divorce rate is due to overlooking the importance of this. I think we need a culture change to 'force' this issue instead of emphasizing equality, which tends to make speaking of actual differences politically incorrect, which in turn leads to relationship problems when Mars fails to understand Venus and vice-versa.

Each gender needs to learn from the other. I can't understate the necessity or depth of this need.

It's not that one gender is weaker than the other. Both are weaker until they LEARN.

My two cents.

Well Mairlyn,
You hit the mark, I must say.
A MAN should fear NOTHING ideally... but if I'm going
to have a fear, the fear of losing my masculinity is about as honorable as a fear can get, IMHO.
So, I'll take your post as a compliment...
Here's an interesting observation I've made.
"Rapture Theology" in Christianity has it that all the "saved" people will become "brides" of Jesus in Heaven (The "Marriage of the Lamb"...)
Talk about losing your masculinity, for the saved MEN! This version of Christianity - VERY popular here in the good ol' US of A... would have ALL men who were saved from "Hell" consigned to a FEMININE role for ALL ETERNITY!!!
What gets me is, super-macho type guys... I mean, rednecks, bikers, and Marines for "Christ's" sake... subscribe to this vision of the afterlife, which sounds more like a homoerotic fantasy (I can't speak for FEMALE believers here...) than anything else to me! To play an eternal "Robin" to Jesus' "Batman"? (I always wondered about those two..!) Gives me the willies just thinking about the implications here... Cripes, the Vikings (who I can count as ancestors, me being 3/4 Norwegian and 1/4 Irish!) may have been barbarians but at least they remained MEN in their conception of the afterlife (Valhalla...)!
"Heaven, the Eternal Prison Shower???" (*Where you're GUARANTEED to play the bee-yatch...*)
(NOTE: After my buddy A. became a Christian, he actually said, "I'm God's B**ch..." This while he and his current girlfriend were trying to convert me..! I was left dumbfounded. This guy is more obsessed with "being a man" than I am, normally!)
Or maybe they just block this out of their minds? Who knows??? I sure as heck don't understand it.
Any feedback on this one?
P.S. Mairlyn, the fact is that SOME things don't change... just as we will likely still not have a reliable cancer cure 40,000 years from now (the disease is probably far too complex for our biological level of intelligence to deal with) women will still be subordinated to men, at least to some degree, 40,000 years from now. It's the way it's ALWAYS been, and ancient facts seldom change... ever.
Anyway,

B-man (again!)

Brendan, I must say I do enjoy your posts as they bring up issues in me so you are helping me (as are all people I come in contact with). We all learn from each other.

I'm not familiar with the Rapture Theology as with my beliefs, we don't need to be saved. You see, we all have the Christ Consciousness within each one of us no matter who we are.  All we have to do is look inside, I mean really go within, and connect with it. We are all Christ. We are the second coming which is the awakening of all to the Christ Consciousness.

In the beginning, we were all androgenous, male and female in one being and then came the split (fall). Ego came into being and ever since then, there is the inequality of male and female (in people's minds). During the 'women's movement' and bra burning, many women did overcome, however most went too far and liked the 'power' they had over men. This too is wrong. A balance is what is needed and with the Ascension of the Earth and all her peoples/plants/animals/rocks, etc. the balance will come. We are living in the greatest time right now and each of us alive now is here because we CHOSE to be here during this time.

As someone in a group I've been in for about 5 years always says, "Ain't Life Grand?"

With Love, Mairlyn  ;-)  ;) ;D

Ahh, yes, the Rapture..lol
In Christian theology, there is neither male nor female, Greek nor Jew..

In heaven, they neither marry nor are they "given" in marriage.  Which means in Christian theology, there ain't no sex..

Of course, in Christian theology, "sex" is one of the dirtiest words there is.
