While I was meditating the other day, suddenly I heard a voice within my head say in a powerful tone, "Harness the power within you."

It seemed like it was coming from beyond myself, and it was just what I needed to hear.

That was a cool experience! ;D  Just thought I'd share....

You answered...
They spoke...
You listened...

But answer me this... WHO called you?

Three possibilities:

1) Yourself
2) God
3) Satan

We must be careful when accepting a spiritual phone call like this... one of the devil's favorite deceptions is to get us to focus on anything, everything... except God.

When we focus on ourselves, our power, our whatever... logic dictates we turn away from God, his power... whatever to look in us. We cannot look in two opposite directions at the same time... physically or spiritually.

God wants us to be spiritually strong, that's true and good... but it's through CHRIST we are given the power to DO ANYTHING.

He wants us to have solid faith too... but in him... the ROCK. I know I sound like the cold bucket of water here, but I've been burnt too many times by tricksters. Just keep an open eye and mind on who's doing the talking to you.

I, myself, see many more possibilities. The voice probably came from your Higher Self. However, it could have come from a Guide, your Soul, your Disk, your Oversoul, an Ascended Master, etc.
It's funny but Satan never has spoken to me. I guess that's because I don't let any negative beings into my awareness/aura/I AM Presence/my God self.  

And I thought that Peter was the ROCK. I'll have to have another visit from Peter I guess.

It's a good message for a western origin person coming from a christian environment.  That is because they tend to always look outside of themselves to different higher powers for help.  We tend to think that we need a rescuer for our society, a saviour from our sins.  We beg and plead w our respective higher powers for most everything.

Yet, in spiritual practice, most everything seems to come from within.  We are the lever, we are the fulcrum, we have the force.  It's a 180 degree turn for most of us to look inside.

Amazing experience!
Sometime the words are so trite... almost simplistic
but that gives you the freedom to interpret them
as you wish which also happens to be part of the message.
About "power within you." Lately in my meditations, I have tried to heat myself up with
the power within me as though it were some sort of cleansing process. But "power" can mean other things like your intellect, your will, etc.
Sounds like the message came from me.  ;)Although I know it didn't since I would've said something less poetic and more wordy.

Hi Freebird. I like this. I'm glad for you as the message was it's ok to feel good about yourself. I get these one liners quite a bit myself, especially a couple years back. I was wondering if I was in control of my reality and a voice said "you are not in control yet."
sure enough I looked around and the voice was right. Boris, you will love this...
naturally I considered why I wasn't in control of outward circumstances and that led me into meditation. so am I in control now? just in control of my reactions to life. if I don't react from a fear thought I stay in balance. that was quite a jump for me and if u think about it the choice is to merely take responsibility for our own thoughts and the movie that is being played out for us here. we can assist others if we stay balanced. has nothing to do with controlling anything. has a lot to do with not reacting mindlessly or egotistically to others. You, Freebird, I have never seen you to do anything but share your deepest thoughts here with us from a loving place, so I know you're getting all kinds of attention from other loving beings. http://images.bravenet.com/common/images/smilies/wave2.gif

Its getting so that I can read a little of the printing that is sometimes projected neatly on the ceiling when I wake up in the morming. I thought I read, "what about you?"

The harnessing of the power within can be nothing but the God-Source if this empowering is truly generated from the God-core. This is truly from the Christ-Presence for Christ empowers....while Satan dis-empowers.

The only true original power within the soul is 'God'. There is no other.

I took another reading of this and did a double take. theres a lot of wisdom here. you seem to be in disguise. I see people in disguise sometimes. I resonate with Bob Dylan lyrics; check this out: (our teachers are everywhere, whatever strikes your fancy is where u might find your lovingness) the bridge: "I & I, in creation where one's nature neither honors nor forgives, I & I, one said to the other, no man sees my face and lives." (the dark cannot sustain itself in the light, but darkness is needed, or in other words,no rain=no flowers)

I think what MS is saying something about the nature of duality here, that it is belonging as it is. nobody responded because of MS disguise, or they didn't see behind the words. you can also pick up this same message from the tag "mr.Satan." very clever disguise.

but doing a take from Freebird's message from what MS said, I agree the least likely place a dyed in the wool Christian or non-Christian for that matter would look is in their own backyard, or within, I mean consistently; perhaps every moment. so Freebird was told to harness his power because he does not see himself harnessing it, and who does? perfect world to harness things, one must always have an objective here, right? but the world is a constant objective/subjective environment and that's like saying whatever goes up, must surely come down. sorta like falling from grace and munching on the old apple of duality. yummy.
Freebird is right, there is no power but God, or the blinding light. on the other hand MS is right, God is not "out there." God is within.we have never left our home  but we are dreaming we have. we have just acquired an ego for experience on this crazy, anything goes planet. we need no longer beg, plead and grovel to be delivered of error, terror or obliteration from the forces of light/God, we just crash, dive, bomb out of restrictive belief systems one at a time. we may be dumb, we may be ignorant, but we are not forsaken by the light. the message harness your power means to me, stop being afraid, as fear creates paralysis. one must always be moving in consciousness here by harnessing the ability to rise above fear, and also to learn to fall, knowing thats a part of your experience also and that the embrace of Light will catch you as you fall.
