Hi George,
That is interesting. Your fish bite and pain. I'd take a guess saying the pain is a reflection of the "physical body" programming that we carry around, in or out of body. Did you feel pain or soreness after becoming awake?
As for dreams being out-of-body, my take on it is that in many dreams we are projecting or shifting our consiousness away from physical reality. In many of my dreams, there are tell tales signs (for me) which indicate that I have been away from my body (or physical awareness). Some of those signs are passing through a tunnel, portal, gate, hole, or some small opening just before thedream ends and I awaken. I think this indicates a returning or shifting to C1 consiousness. Dreams that i have frequently of being in a airport, airplane, terminal, waiting room, school or lounge also are a sign I am traveling (and usually mingling with others). Just a few examples.
Lucid dreaming (being aware that you are dreaming) allows me to take control and refocus the dream.

I've not felt pain in a dream..not in that sense anyway, however, after reading this, I took a nap.
I always slip right into dreams almost immediately.
Lately, my dreams center around my granddaughter, not surprising since I spend alot of time with her.
This was no different.  I had put her to bed.  She was still awake, and had a full bottle in the bed.  I opened the bottle to check the formula, to see if it was still good.  I actually smelled it in the dream..just as it really smells..she wasn't even home at the time.

A couple of years ago while listening to a remote veiwing tape I had my first controlled OBE experience.  The tape instructed me to expand my body to my left several feet.  I had to go through my exterior wall to do that.  It was brick, and I felt myself push through.  It was somewhat painful, and surprised me.  I didn't know pain could be felt out of body, but apparently anything is possible.  The pain stayed in my physical body until I "intended" it away.  After that I was fine.  But the whole experience gave me the validation I needed about having OBE experiences at will.

One of the ways I can tell if my dream is an OBE experience is from the intensity of my sensory experiences.  My regular dreams lack the vivid awareness of my OBE dreams.  The only problem with OBE episodes, in dreams or out, is that they are so easily forgotten.  I have to work at it to remember them before they are lost.
