what is a confirmation?

I know you were kind of directing this to JG, but I happened to be browsing here and found your question.  I am going to offer a point of view, but must clarify that I am not sure of the context in which you are asking this.  In my view, a confirmation is some kind of evidence that proves to you that what you experienced really did happen.  Like, suppose you spoke with a person in the Afterlife and they gave you a piece of information that you did not know before,  Then you run this past a physically living person and they confirm it...this is confirmation that you truly did visit the Afterlife.
